Amy tagged me. Here is her link: http://beaglebreath.blogspot.com/

7 Random Facts:

1. I like to make up weird songs and sing them. This sometimes makes Jason roll his eyes and laugh at me.

2. My toes are quite long, longer than the average toes. They look like small fingers.

3. Although I'm a teacher and teach six year old kids how to read, I don't regularly read for pleasure. You'd think I'd enjoy reading more.

4. I was home schooled from Kindergarten - 8th grade.

5. Jason and I met on the internet.

6. I'm an animal freak and always want more critters. I'd especially like to have a pygmy goat, a teacup pig and a chimpanzee.

7. I enjoy eating things together that don't typically go together.

I'm skipping the tagging part because I don't have a lot of friends with blogs.

Halloween

I know I looked like a dork, but I dressed up like a clown for Halloween anyway. The kids loved it and I had fun. :)

Homework Mishap

Always check your child's homework before you send it to school. :) A friend sent this to me. I can totally picture something like this happening in my class. Make sure you read the explanation at the bottom.

Explanation:
The kid's mom worked at Home Depot and was selling a shovel.

Surgery

I had surgery yesterday. :( It wasn't a huge deal; just a cyst on my left wrist that needed to be removed. Although simple, it still made me a little nervous since I have never had an IV, anesthesia, or stitches before. In the end, it all went well, but I'm sore today.

Football

Yesterday I went to my very first non-Azusa college football game. Jason, Jo, Adam, my dad and I all went and had a blast. A little bit of rain and few soaking wet clothing articles later, and we got to see Cal Berkeley beat ASU 24-14. If anything, the rain made the game more worthwhile. It was like going out and roughing it in the wilderness or something.

Although the game was fun, it did, in some ways, make me miss my college days. Don't get me wrong, because I really enjoy my current stage of life, but there is just something about college that is captivating to me. Living in dorms, college spirit, challenging classes, working your way to a better future, friends that last a lifetime, and the list goes on and on. . .

More Funny Kid Stuff

So, I was reading this book about gold miners in 1859 with a couple of kids from my class, and here are two funny things that were said (keep in mind they are only in 1st grade):

* 1859 is back "when presidents wore wigs." Also, "my brother told me that George Washington got shot in the head."

* "Back in the olden days when they didn't have knowledge they used to use a hammer and a pick to write on rocks."

Kids are Quite Honest

1. A kid brings in a bear for show and tell. The bear has flaming fire boxers on. Another kid
says, "hey, my dad has those boxers."

2. "My mom has lots of boyfriends."

3. Mrs. Tate- "What position do you play in football?"
Kid- "Well, there is not really a place for me out there. But you get all of the fruit and water
you want after the game." (ok, kind of sad, but kind of funny because he is one of the
most uncoordinated kids I know)

More to come as I continue to try to remember some of the funny things that have happend in my class.
